The priest is old school and kind of scares me a little because his sermons are one sided and very intense with aggression at times.

  • My family and I have been serving and praying the Mass at Corpus Christi for several years now as visitors. Father Bob always asks the hard questions. While his delivery is very simple, easy, and even familiar, the Truth and the Spirit are clearly ever-present and he forces one to look closely inward and therefore, he can make uncomfortable those who are unwilling to pursue a closer relationship with the Triune God. I have always found his homilies to be soundly rooted in the CCC (Catechism of the Catholic Church) and I look forward to my dose of uncomfortable Truth whenever I'm in town. A wise young seminarian once told me that when he became a priest, God willing, he would make sure that his Church would never become a comfortable way to go to Hell. That young seminarian could easily look to Father Bob as a model for success in that goal. Father Bob does not sacrifice Truth in order to give his congregation an easy conscience. He is simply amazing and I doubt most of this area realizes the treasure they have in him. God bless and love Father Bob and all of our loyal deacons, priests, and bishops.

We went to this church on Ascension Thursday a year ago and the pastor preached on "there is NO heaven, so don't think you're going there!" I felt like leaving. There were a lot of elderly people in the church and how disheartening to hear such a message. His tone was very condescending. After Mass I asked this pastor about Purgatory, if there is no "place" such as heaven. The pastor also said there is no such place as Purgatory. He said "you live purgatory on earth." I think he needs to read the Catechism of the Catholic Church and his bishop needs to know he is preaching some kind of New Age message. Very heretical homily. I hope his parishoners report him to the bishop. I intend to.

"Sports are evil!" was among the misstatements made. The focus seemed to be a bitter diatribe against American Football but instead came out as a protest against all sports. It seemed focused on building up the body and not destroying it, but seemed to miss the fact that sports are used to strengthen and build the body as well.

  • This is a place you need in your life. Everyone is welcoming and I felt at home. This is not my normal church but I will probably switch soon. Being baptist it is not what I expected but exactly what I wanted and need.
